Carlos Gardel . . . The Argentinian Elvis of the early 1930’s

Carlos had it all!  He was handsome and an amazing crooner and songwriter!!  Carlos was the Elvis of his day!  He wrote beautiful, tragic love songs for the Tango and women worshipped him!

The Tango originated in the 1890’s in working neighborhoods along the Rio Plata.  In those days it was a partner dance between two men.

Carlos brought the Tango to a new level by adding song to dance.  And, now women and men embraced in a close, intimate dance.  His classic Tango song, Por Una Cabeza was performed by Jamie Lee Curtis in the movie. True Lies.  Carlos’
music is still relevant today!

Carlos Gardel died June 24, 1935 in a tragic airplane crash at the young age of 45.  Like Elvis, the world still loves the music of Carlos Gardel.
