El Campo Gualaceo

Gualaceo is a rural town located about 20 miles south of Cuenca. It is known for its fruit, vegetable and handicraft markets. Last weekend, we had the opportunity to view indigenous families going about their weekend business — shopping for food, worshipping in the nearby church, licking ice cream in the Parque Central and strolling the streets hand in hand. The town is filled with beautiful images, interesting smells and handsome characters.
